According to "The Program of Design and Development Work and Modernization of Production", the design and development work and research & development are conducted in more than 140 spheres in scientific and design divisions.

            Planning and conduction of research & development is one of the prioritive directions of united policy of "Aerospace equipment Corporation". This policy is conducted with the aim of:

• endurance of sustainable, long-term development,
• preservation and rising of competitiveness on a home and foreign markets
• development of a new product line, which satisfies changeable requirements of clients.

Technical research center forms technical policy of Corporation. This center is an independent structural subdivision of OJSC "Aerospace equipment Corporation".

            Today all Research &Development work of Corporation is conducted in accordance with "The program of Design and Development Work and Modernization of Production of "Aerospace equipment Corporation" for 2007-2010. This program was approved by board of enterprises of Corporation in 2007.

            The following aspects are carried out within the framework of this Program:

• simulation technologies
• systems of control and indication
• radar engineering
• complexification of board equipment
• other activities

Corporation develops a set of full-sized simulators of aircrafts Su-30MKI for crew training of BBC India within the framework of the contract with Republic of India in the sphere of simulation technologies. Aircraft simulator of airplane Tu-204-120СЕ operates successfully at "Pulkovo" Airport. Crews of Chinese People's Republic and Republic of Cuba use this aircraft simulator for trainings.

There are successful results in the spheres of development and inculcation of control systems in serial production, for example, "Ekran-30"-type systems. Different modifications of these systems are used on aircrafts MiG-29SMT, MiG-20UBT which are delivered to Yemen and Eritrea.

There are positive results of exploitations of "Ekran-30" system on helicopters Ka-52, Ka-60, 23D2 of OJSC "Kamov".

The following aspects are considered to be prioritive for Corporation in the sphere of radar engineering:

• development of meteoradar of "Kontur-10SB"-type for civil airplanes. This meteoradar satisfies international requirements and provides measurement of "wind shear".
• Realization of a project of multifunctional integral radio-electronic system for fighter of the 5^th generation.

In the spheres of complexification of board equipment experts of scientific and technical center of Corporation pay attention to promotion of technical offers of control systems of promising native trunk-route aircrafts MS-21.

The following activities are also important for Corporation:

• modification of radar station "Bars" which are concerned with elimination of remarks of evaluation test of aircraft Su-30MKI-3
• modernization of radar station "Bars" for aircrafts Su-30MKM и Su-30MKA
• development work on creation of quick-acting multipurpose gas drive PG-27-1ЗM, which intends for installation of products of Tactical Missiles Corporation
• development of computing modules and its inculcation into production of Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation (armour and automotive equipment) and aircrafts of civil aviation.
